Once you've completed your first event, we would love to hear from you!  Send us a couple of photos, your press release and the flyer (or other marketing material that you used to promote the event) and we will add you to our web site as a Success Story in marketing.

You can send this via snail mail to Coalition for Senior Safety, C/O Senior Approved Services, PO Box 47, N. Olmsted Ohio 44070. Please do not send originals - we cannot return your materials to you.

Promoting your successful event on our web site helps other groups and individuals see how simple and how very creative you can actually get with these projects.

Additionally, you can tell those that are part of your program that they will receive additional exposure on the Coalition for Senior Safety web site. Sending us your program flyer, listing all participants, will do this for you. If you can scan your materials in and send them to us via email that may be easier. In this case, email to Coalition for Senior Safety .

Sending a press release to your local papers is a must.  Keep your press release under 400 words for best success.   Make sure that you include all of your contact information. Alternatively, you may want to send an invitation to your local papers to attend your first event.  A reporter may find this a very interesting topic to write about and may welcome the opportunity to attend.

Sending a press release out on the Internet is also a good method to promote your upcoming event.  The following are services that will publish your press release at no cost or at a very low cost.

The very best place we have ever found - both in pricing and in quality of services is Vista Print .  They have pre-made templates that you can customize and they also are easy to work with when uploading your own designs.

Launching a Web Site

If you plan to offer senior safety programs in your local community as an ongoing project, you may want to consider a web site.  Both Yahoo and Google now offer a 'local search' function on their search engines and many people are finding a local business on the Internet much faster than leafing through the yellow pages.  Chances are, you won't have a yellow page ad and so the web site will help promote your service.  This is especially helpful in your marketing.  Rather than spending a great deal of money on flyers, you could simply send out an inexpensive postcard listing your web site address - which will then provide you ample room to describe your event or programs.  Use your web address in a small ad that you place in your local papers or in the calendar feature of community events.

We have two web hosting companies that we recommend.  MidPhase  is the service that we are using for this particular project.  It is relatively inexpensive.  You can use Front Page (or any html) and upload your own pages, or do it the easy way and make use of their templates.  (That's what we are doing)  You are somewhat limited how many pages you can have before additional charges set in.  Everything you see on our site is included for the low fee of $95 per year - which includes the domain name.

If you plan to offer a newsletter ezine and you want unlimited space without any extra fees, you may want to consider Site Build It .  This is the hosting company that Senior Approved Services uses.  You can upload your own html pages or use the easy templates.  It includes a free ezine mailing system, templates, unlimited number of pages, domain name, unlimited number of domain based email addresses, free search engine submit, and much much more!  This one is more expensive, but you do not have the need to purchase other services along the way.  Right now the price is $300 per year.
